Project Description
The Putnam Heights Elementary School for the Eau Claire Area School District is an addition and renovation totaling approximately 79,700 gross square feet single story facility with mechanical mezzanines. The facility serves approximately 500 students in grades Kindergarten through Grade 5 and provides space that will be used by the community. Construction consisted of load bearing masonry supporting a steel roof structure. The floors are concrete slab on grade and precast concrete with topping in the mezzanine. Site work includes new parking, drives and utilities. The HVAC system includes air handling units with a roof top chiller. The entire building project includes a fire protection system, plumbing, new electrical service; electrical distribution equipment replacements; light fixture replacements; new fire alarm system; new intercom and clock systems; extensive revisions to structured cabling systems; and modifications to existing security and access control systems. This project has earned a LEED for Schools certification rating of silver.
