Description
Following a competitive Quality Based Selection (QBS) process; Camosy Construction was selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for this project in August 2009. SRBL Architects (Now FGM Architects) was the architect on the project which is a new stand alone 80,000 SF Police Station with state of the art features that include an 8 lane firing range, communications center, forensic labs, defensive training center, fitness center, training classroom, indoor police vehicle parking and all the typical operational and administrative areas. As Construction Manager at Risk, Camosy provided all Construction Management services starting with Pre-Construction during the Schematic Design Phase. Camosy worked closely with the Owner and Architect during the early stages of design to develop a variety of cost-savings options including utilizing crushed concrete and masonry materials generated by on site recycling of the existing strip mall building’s concrete floor slabs and masonry walls.
Services Provided
As Construction Manager at Risk, Camosy provided all Construction Management services starting with Pre-Construction during the Schematic Design Phase. We worked closely with the Owner and Architect during the early stages of design to develop a variety of cost-saving Value Enhancement options including utilizing crushed concrete and masonry materials generated by on site recycling of the existing strip mall buildings’ concrete floor slabs and masonry walls generating an estimated savings of more than $130,000.
