Description
The Lentz Hall Nursing Lab Renovation Project at Carthage College is a comprehensive effort to expand and enhance the college’s nursing education facilities. This multi-phase renovation will significantly improve simulation, instruction, and student collaboration spaces to support the growth of the Nursing and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) programs.
Key components of the project include:
- Simulation Lab Expansion: The existing Nursing Simulation Lab will be remodeled to include one additional simulation room and an adjacent control room, increasing the capacity for hands-on clinical training using advanced simulation technology.
- Debriefing Space Addition: The current nursing lab will be reconfigured to incorporate a new debriefing conference room, which will provide essential space for reflective learning and discussion following simulation exercises.
- Library Basement Renovation: The lower level of the Hedberg Library will undergo a significant transformation to accommodate:
- Thirteen (13) new hospital bed simulation rooms will allow students to gain experience in realistic patient care environments.
- Three (3) dedicated classrooms are designed to support both nursing and CNA instruction.
- Two (2) additional debriefing conference rooms, expanding opportunities for collaborative learning and post-simulation evaluation.
This renovation aligns with Carthage College’s commitment to delivering high-quality, experiential learning in healthcare education and prepares students to meet the growing demands of the nursing profession.
