Description
Following a competitive Quality Based Selection process, Camosy was chosen as the Construction Manager at Risk for the Village of Gurnee Fire Department’s new Fire Station No. 3. Located on Manchester Drive east of Route 21 (Milwaukee Road) and North of Route 120, the station will serve the southern coverage area for the department. The station is approximately 15,921 total square feet including 1,472 square feet of mezzanine level. The plan includes four back-in apparatus bays, private sleeping rooms for seven, three private toilet/shower rooms and a shared locker room, a conference room, a station office, an open plan combined dayroom and kitchen, and dedicated fitness space. The Apparatus Bay support spaces include Watch Office, EMS Room, App Bay Toilet, General Storage, Decontamination Room, SCBA, Turnout Gear Space, and access to the mezzanine and Hose Tower.
Camosy provided complete Construction Management at Risk services for this project, including Preconstruction, Budgeting, Estimating, Bidding and Purchasing, Scheduling, Supply-Chain Management, Value Engineering, Constructability Reviews, Project Management, and full-time Field Supervision during construction. The work was completed in September 2021, with the ribbon cutting in early October.
