Description
This new fire station was designed by FGM Architects and includes 12,600 square feet of new construction and is the satellite fire station that will serve the western portion of the Lake Villa Fire Protection District. It has a three-wide double-deep drive-thru apparatus bay area, a day room, a kitchen, a bunk room, a locker room, a library, a fitness room, a shift commander’s office, a communications room, turn-out gear space and a gear wash room.
Under Construction Manager as Constructor (at Risk) delivery, all contracts were direct between Camosy and each sub-contractor. This project had twenty-six (26) contracts between Camosy and sub-contractors.
Camosy has enjoyed a long relationship with the Lake Villa Township Fire Protection District providing both General Contracting and Construction Management services over many years. Since 2007, all work with the District has been contracted under Construction Management at Risk delivery and has included two new Satellite Fire Stations and a series of other renovation and site improvement projects throughout the District.
Services Provided
Camosy services included all phases of work from Pre-Construction and Construction through the completion of the two-year warranty period. Camosy provided complete CM services including budgeting, estimating, value engineering, constructability review, quality control, scheduling, logistical planning, project management and full-time, on-site field supervision during construction.
