Village of Schaumburg Village Hall

Description

Camosy was selected as Construction Manager at Risk by the Village of Schaumburg in April 2024 following a competitive Quality Based Selection process. The project involves constructing a new Village Hall to replace the original facility, which was completed in 1973 and no longer met the Village’s needs. The new 83,594-square-foot building, located on the site of the former Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center, is designed to support the Village’s current operations and future growth.

The facility includes a partial basement with a receiving dock, secure high-density storage, mechanical systems, and space for future expansion. The ground floor features the main public entrance, elevator lobby, and key municipal departments such as Finance, Community Development, Transportation, Economic Development, and Engineering, along with staff amenities like a breakroom, kitchen, and fitness area. The upper level houses a multi-function board/community room, executive offices for the Mayor and Village Manager, Human Resources, IT, and additional support spaces, as well as public conference areas and restrooms.

Camosy’s role encompasses comprehensive construction management services, beginning with preconstruction planning in May 2024. This included coordinating the demolition of the existing Village Hall and managing the adaptive reuse of a nearby office building as a temporary Village Hall to ensure uninterrupted Village operations. Camosy continues to provide full project administration and on-site supervision throughout the construction phase.
