Description
The existing Zion-Benton Football Field and Track & Field facilities were aging and nearing the end of their useful expected life span. A complete renovation of the existing athletic facilities was included as part of a Master Plan to improve the High School and overall campus facilities.
The work called for replacing the existing natural turf field with a new synthetic turf field designed to accommodate football and soccer with new goalposts. The existing competition running track circling the field was removed completely, and a new 9-lane urethane-coated track with 10 sprint lanes was installed.
The work also included improvement to all Field Events facilities. A new perimeter fence was installed as well as new fencing separating the track from the field. A new “big screen” LED scoreboard is included in the work, complementing a new premier sound system. Existing visitor bleacher seating was removed, and new visitor bleachers were installed.
A new ticket booth – Spirit Wear building was constructed with a new protective entry canopy, and the existing Concessions Building was remodeled. New LED field lighting was also included to complete the overall renovation work.
